How do the Epitome models attach so that you Do Not Drill Holes in your floor?
	Pictured to the left is a ball-joint device, mounted on our base plate. The ball-joint is self-described as a "patented split ball" design, which allows for positioning your desk on three planes. You can "tilt 90°, turn 360° and rotate 360°", all from a single knob control. A hex-stud (welded on the far left of the pictured plate), with a tuning-fork like bracket (bottom front right) that connects to your existing passenger seat bolt are the major components to the No-Drill system.
Pictured (above) on the right side of the mounting plate are two chrome-plated glider screws which are used to tension and level the base plate (similar concept to a vehicle leaf spring), thereby absorbing road shock and stabilizing the entire workstation. While there will be some 'waving' of the desktop, rest assured that your hard drive and data are Not exposed to excessive shock - as when you have a floor mount or rigid mount device.
Change vehicles? By design, the purchase of a new vehicle does Not mean you need to purchase a new desk. Simply give us a call and let us know what your new vehicle is, and usually for around $20.00, a new mounting bracket will be all you need to change - making the Epitome an investment that will continue to yield returns for years to come!

Each full version Epitome, Epitome Napoleon and Epitome Plus desktop includes a Bluetooth Wireless, USB, IEEE 1394 Firewire Hub with a 400 Watt Power Inverter providing two (2) AC and three (3) DC Outlets! You get two (2) AC (just like in your house or office) and three (3) DC outlets (like in your vehicle), giving you five (5) powered outlets to plug in your laptop, GPS device, printer, cell-phone and other accessories. 	Positioned out of the way (upper left hand corner of the desktop), the inverter has an On / Off switch with LED's. Built-in surge and spike control protect your electronic equipment always - especially during engine start-up and shut-down. Automatic power down if your battery reaches a level that might leave you stranded. Each Epitome ships with a Display Holder that helps stabilize your laptop's display (lid) during heavy events of acceleration and/or braking! Display Holder!
While nothing can totally eliminate the stress of vibration on your computer display hinges, each Epitome model ships with a Display Holder that helps stabilize your laptop's display (lid) during regular driving, heavy events of acceleration and/or emergency breaking! Strong enough to stabilize, but engineered to collapse for safety.

The Desktop is constructed of 3/16", black ABS Haircell, for strength, style and durability. Each Epitome desktop includes the LocDown™ laptop securing system, as well as a nylon safety strap. The LocDown™ is comprised of two rubberized L-shaped brackets that are controlled by thumbscrews underneath the desktop. The tall part of the capital "L" faces the front of the desktop and the laptop is positioned in between the desktop front lip and the LocDown's™. Installed on the desktop are 4 rubber bumper pads for extra shock absorption.
For total desktop control of angles and slants, there is another ball-joint device installed between the top upright pedestal and the actual desktop, meaning that adjustment is controlled by one thumbscrew. We have added two adjustment slots (shown in picture on top right) on each side of the desktop, to allow you to move your laptop left or right for access to the ports in the rear.

Epitome Adjustments
Heavy-duty spring acting Snap-Buttons give the upright sections horizontal and rotational stability. Both the upper and lower sections of the Epitome have separate controls - allowing you to adjust either upright tube height according to your particular needs.
For added stability, we added Nylon B-Clamps. The tension is controlled by a single thumb-screw. The B-Clamps act as a 'cuff' and stabilizes where the 1" tube inserts into the 1-1/8" tube.
The patented adjustable knuckle (pictured to the right) allows you the ability to adjust the uprights to an endless range of forward and reverse angles (22, 10° locking positions) by squeezing the knob and selecting the angle best for your situation. The adjustable knuckle absorbs the vast majority of road energy, yielding the most stable laptop platform available. Combine this with the ball-joint on our No-Drill base mount's patented split ball design, allowing for positioning your desk on three additional planes, and you can tilt (180°), turn (360°) and rotate (360°) your desk, all from a single knob.
